Skilled Migration Internship Program for Accountants (SMIPA)

The SMIPA program is an initiative of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) to help international students in Accounting to achieve permanent residency and employment in Australia. Performance English has been approved as a SMIPA provider for this accounting professional year by the three Australian professional accounting bodies.

The SMIPA program offers successful participants the opportunity to gain 10 points towards Permanent Residency and provides the training and work experience needed to maximise your employment opportunities and work experience in Accounting.  This includes the following core components:

·         Orientation

·         Professional Business Communications

·         Australian Business Culture and Environment

·         Achieving Career Success in Accounting

·         Professional Internship Accounting Work Experience (minimum 12 weeks)

·         Graduation

The Performance English SMIPA program is held in our Sydney CBD facilities and is offered in a unique part-time or full-time format to best fit in with your work and personal needs.  Our program has been developed by communications and employment specialists to give you the edge in the market, including special features such as:

·         Personal Career Coaching & Career Training by Accountants

·         Job Placement Support

·         Priority Access to Accounting Recruiters

·         Cambridge Work Experience Certificate (optional at extra cost)

·         Training in a Business Environment

This is a selective premium program for international students who have completed a recognised two year Accounting program within the last 6 months and have achieved an overall IELTS score of 6.0 or above. 

Course Fees & Monthly Repayment Plan

The total fee for the full SMIPA accounting professional year including enrolment, tuition, work experience and materials is $11,950, as well as an additional $250 for an application fee. Talk to us to ask about our monthly repayment plan which allows you to pay $1,295 for ten monthly installments.

Timetable

• Full time: Monday - Thursday, 9am - 1.30pm, 16 contact hours per week
• Part time: Monday & Tuesday, 9am - 1.30pm, 8 contact hours per week

* Please note that the SMIPA program is not available to student visa holders as their principal course of study.
