Cross Cultural Communication Skills  [ CCS100 ]

Course Description

Our Cross Cultural Communications Workshop is designed for both Australian and Overseas Born Professionals as a starting point in the understanding of cultural values, beliefs and assumptions that may be different from their own.

Our approach to cross cultural training focuses on the delivery of our cross cultural framework that can be adopted to build cultural intelligence throughout an organisation.

Most participants will have little previous experience in this topic and our approach aims to develop the key building blocks of cultural intelligence to allow for improved communication outcomes. These building blocks largely relate to an understanding of cultural values (invisible elements of culture) that form behavioural platforms (visible elements of culture).

When students begin to grasp these cultural value dimensions and motivational domains across cultures they are then in a position to accelerate learning through numerous other topics in the cross cultural space.

Topics include:

  • What is Cultural Intelligence?
  • What are the Key Cultural Dimensions?
  • Plotting the Markets: Building a Cross Cultural Framework
  • Self Awareness
  • Activities - Cross Cultural Encounters
  • Language
  • Communication Styles
  • Group Dynamics
  • Social & Workplace Protocols
